FROM YOUR R.E.

Amber Young is leaving Cal Club for other professional opportunities, as of 2/26/08. The Club will take this opportunity to readjust the workload to see if we might not improve further our responsiveness to members and the conduct of races.

Toward that end of improvement the following changes have been instituted by the RE on behalf of the Board of Governors.

Ceci Smith our current Race Chair will also take on registration issues for each race and thus will be responsible for everything that takes place at our race weekend from schedule development, registration to trophies. Penny Coy will continue to provide supervision for those activities as will the RE as we have in the past. Cecis FAX is 562-421-4598. All entries faxed to the club office will be forwarded to Ceci as will those that come in via e-mail or any of the postal services (USPS, UPS, Fed EX). Ceci will prepare the registration process and have it ready for those same friendly faces you have come to expect when registering as a worker or racer at an event.

Fiscal issues including bill paying, auditing expenses and the fiscal side of race entries et including the audit report to SCCA will be handled by our treasurer Les Phillips and his staff at the BRP Office. That report will require input from Ceci and others as well.

Office issues our own Board Member/ SRF racer / Steward, John (MIK ) Mikkelsen will take over the operations of the office at BRP. Mik will coordinate with Ceci and insure that calls are returned and questions answered. Most importantly Mik will also being to grow the clubs efforts at promotion of our races and building our presence in the racing community as well as in the Southern California Car Culture Community.

Mik and Ceci will report to the Board thru Penny Coy the Assistant RE for Admin. I too will be directly involved here. Les and team will report to the RE on fiscal issues.

With every change there is both opportunity and challenge, this is no exception. We will try to get the necessary changes made to our personnel roster and FAX numbers on the website as soon as possible.
